Protocol for Law Enforcement

Last updated August 6, 2026

1. Introduction

These guidelines are intended to help law enforcement agencies and government officials understand how to request user information from Bondz, Inc. ("Bondz," "we," "us"). These guidelines are informational only, do not create any enforceable rights or obligations, and may be updated at any time. Bondz is committed to protecting the privacy of our users while cooperating with valid legal requests and, where appropriate, prioritizing requests that involve a risk to someone's safety.

Bondz is a small company. Requests are reviewed by a limited team in coordination with outside counsel, and response times will vary based on the complexity and urgency of the request. We prioritize emergency requests involving imminent danger to a person, but we cannot guarantee a specific response time. Agencies with a true emergency should also pursue any other available emergency channels in parallel with contacting us.

This page is for use by law enforcement only. Users seeking their own account information should contact contactus@bondz.co

2. About Bondz

Bondz is an interest-based dating and social discovery app available for download and use in the United States.

3. Types of Legal Process We Accept

Bondz requires valid, properly served legal process issued by a court or agency with proper jurisdiction before disclosing user information, except in emergencies (see Section 4). Bondz reserves the right to challenge, object to, or seek to narrow any legal process that it believes is overbroad, vague, or legally deficient. Bondz is a limited-data platform: we do not currently collect or retain IP address logs, message/chat content, or records of which users have matched, communicated, or exchanged Date Ideaz activity. What follows reflects the data we actually hold — not a general representation of what a platform of this kind might hold. Because our data practices may evolve, our response to any specific request will reflect our actual data holdings at the time of that request

Subpoena A valid subpoena issued in compliance with applicable law (including CalECPA) may be used to compel disclosure of basic subscriber information, where available:

  • Name, email address, and phone number provided at signup
  • Registration date
  • Profile information as entered by the user
  • Records of in-app user reports submitted about, or by, the account
  • Payment/transaction records processed through our payment processor (transaction ID, amount, date — not full card numbers, which we never store)

Court Order / Search Warrant Bondz does not currently retain or have access to IP address logs, device/session logs, message or chat content, or match/activity records (including Date Ideaz activity), so we have no such records to produce in response to a court order or search warrant. If a request seeks this type of data, we will state in our response that we do not possess it, rather than represent that we hold records we do not have.

Identity Verification Records Bondz uses a third-party identity verification provider, Persona, to verify user identity at signup. Persona — not Bondz — holds the underlying verification data (e.g., government ID images and related records). Requests for this data should be directed to Persona directly rather than routed through Bondz. Persona's privacy and data request information is available at withpersona.com/privacy, with general inquiries to support@withpersona.com; law enforcement should confirm the appropriate formal request channel directly with Persona.

If we do not have the information requested, or do not retain it for the time period requested, we will tell you so in our response.

4. Emergency Disclosure Requests

Where we have a good faith belief that there is a risk of death or serious physical harm to a person, we may disclose account information to law enforcement without a subpoena or court order, as permitted under California Penal Code § 1546.1(h) (part of CalECPA), alongside the federal 18 U.S.C. § 2702(b)(8). Emergency requests are routed to a small, designated team who review and escalate them as quickly as reasonably possible. Because Bondz is a small company without 24/7 dedicated staff, we cannot guarantee immediate or around-the-clock response. To help us act as quickly as possible, emergency requests should:

  • Be submitted on official law enforcement letterhead or from a verifiable agency email address
  • Clearly and specifically state the nature of the emergency and the danger involved
  • Include the username, email, phone number, or other identifying information for the account(s) in question
  • Include a direct callback number for the requesting officer or agent
  • Send emergency requests to: legal@bondz.co

We evaluate every emergency request individually and reserve the right to request follow-up legal process for any information disclosed on an emergency basis. If a matter is immediately life-threatening, we encourage agencies to pursue all standard emergency channels in parallel with contacting us, rather than relying on this process alone.

5. Preservation Requests

Law enforcement may request that we preserve account records pending the issuance of formal legal process. Because Bondz does not currently retain IP logs, message content, or match/activity data (see Section 3), preservation requests are limited to the account, profile, and report data described above. Preservation requests should:

  • Be submitted in writing on agency letterhead
  • Identify the specific account(s) by username, email, or phone number
  • Reference the applicable legal authority (e.g., 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) or state equivalent)

We will preserve the requested records for 90 days, renewable for an additional 90 days pending receipt of formal legal process.

6. User Notification

Except where prohibited by law or a valid non-disclosure order (e.g., under 18 U.S.C. § 2705(b) or a state equivalent), Bondz will, where practicable, notify the affected user that their information has been requested by law enforcement. Where we are subject to a non-disclosure order, we will notify the user once that order expires, unless renewed.

7. International Requests

Requests from law enforcement outside the United States should be submitted through the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) process via the U.S. Department of Justice, or through a letter rogatory, unless another valid legal mechanism applies.

8. Reimbursement of Costs

Bondz reserves the right to seek reimbursement for costs associated with responding to legal process, consistent with applicable law, and may require payment before producing records in response to non-compulsory requests.

9. How to Submit a Request

All non-emergency requests must be submitted in writing and include:

As a small company, Bondz reviews incoming legal requests in coordination with outside counsel, and non-emergency requests are handled on a standard business timeline rather than immediately upon receipt.
