Swipe fatigue is a real issue, which is why Bondz has chosen to use a scroll-based system instead. Bondz requires users to spend time filling out a thorough profile when onboarding. And in order to give everyone a fair chance, Bondz also requires users to scroll through an entire profile before making a decision on matching or not. This system was designed to encourage users to view profiles in full, creating more intentional and thoughtful matches. Bondz shows four profiles at a time, but if users are unsure of how they feel, they are able to revisit a profile later. Other dating apps rush users into making a decision, but Bondz wants users to slow down and take their time.
Date spots can be difficult to find, which is why Bondz partners with businesses that users can invite others to meet-up at. On the app, users are shown nearby Bondz partners to help find new places to explore. Businesses can provide exclusive deals for Bondz users, and users can also look at businesses located anywhere in the world. When users have had a conversation for a certain period of time, the Plan-a-Date feature will be unlocked which allows users to share directly in-chat potential date spots from Bondz business partners.
Everyone with a Bondz account is automatically given a Bondz Code. Sharing a Bondz code will add one person’s profile into another’s algorithm. This bypasses interest matching filters in the Bondz algorithm, meaning that even if two people don’t share the same interests they will still be able to view each other’s profile. This code can be shared anywhere, virtually on social media or in-person at Bondz events (or any event, really). Bondz Codes were made to be a low pressure way to meet new people and let people put themselves out there in the dating scene. In the interest of safety and user comfortability, this feature does not bypass the gender and age preferences.
